《飛極速在線》劇情簡介：Salomé (1 923), a  silent  film dir ected by C harles Bryant and starri ng Alla Nazimova, is a  film adaptati on of t he Oscar Wilde  play of the sam e name. Th e play  itself is  a loose ret elling o f the bibli cal sto ry of King Her od and his ex ecution  of John the Ba ptist ( here, as i n Wilde&am p;#39;s pl ay, cal led Jokaanan) a t the request o f his step daughter, Salomé,  whom he lu sts after. Sal omé is often  called one of t he first art fi lms to b e made in the U .S.[citation needed] The hig hly sty lized cost umes, exagge rated acting (even for  the peri od), minim al sets,  and ab sence of al l but the most necess ary props  make for a  screen ima ge much mo re focuse d on atmo sphere and on conveying  a sense  of the characte rs' ind ividual he ightened desires tha n on convention al plot deve lopment. Despit e the f ilm being on ly a littl e over an hou r in length  and havi ng no real  action to  speak of, it cost over $35 0, 000 to make . All the set s were con structed indoo rs to be able t o have complete control over the li ghting. The fil m was s hot completely  in blac k and whit e, match ing the illu strations d one by  Aubrey  Beardsley in the printed edition of Wi lde&amp ;#39;s play . The co stumes,  designed by Na tacha Rambova , used mat erial only f rom Maison Lewi s of Par is, such as t he real silver  lamé loinclo ths worn b y the guar ds. No major st udio would be asso ciated wit h the fi lm, and it w as years after its completion before it was released,  by a minor ind ependent distr ibutor. It  was a complet e failure at t he time and marked  the end of N azimova&a mp;#39;s  producing c areer. A lon gstanding rumo r, which see ms to have star ted while the  film was still  in production , sugg ests that its cast is c omprised enti rely of gay and bisexual act ors in an hom age to O scar Wilde , as per st ar and p roducer Naz imova&#3 9;s dema nd. It is, of cour se, impo ssible t o say, but  one of the e xtras in  Salomé rep orted that a number of t he cast member s—both feature d and extr as—were  indeed gay , but n ot an unus ual percent age of them,  and cer tainly n ot all of the m. What can  be said  is that Nazi mova hers elf was a lesbian, the two guard characters (wh o, next to S alomé, have th e most screen t ime) are at least p layed very ster eotypically gay, and s everal of the f emale court iers are  men in  drag. Sa lomé was screened  in 1989 at the New Yor k Intern ational Festiv al of L esbian and Ga y films an d in 19 90 at the  New York Ga y Experimental Film Fe stival.
