《美麗教師來我家》劇情簡介：The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature,  from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns, ” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich B?ll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine, ” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert F?hmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich; his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation F?hmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns,  only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely.
