Why for so many years, seemingly since it's release in 1933, this film vanished from the face of the earth. After seeing it, courtesy of the efforts of Mr. Wade Williams &amp;amp; Co., I'm still puzzled, but I have a theory. In 1933, &amp;quot;the code&quot; was enacted that pretty much took care of sex and violence in Hollywood. While not an explicit film by any means, &quot;Deluge&quot; does deal fairly frankly with sexuality, lust and rape. I wonder if RKO discovered they had a film that they could not re-release,  much like the fabled lost Warner Bros. comedy &amp;quot;Convention City&amp;quot;. It&#39;s a shame for, while it is a dated film, I find it quite unique and surprising for it&#39;s era and a fairly successful attempt to create something different in an era when films were already becoming cookie cutter by-products of the studio machine (not that many of those cookies aren&#39;t tasty, mind you). And even though the only available copy at this writing is dubbed into Italian, I don&amp;#39;t find that a hinderance.
